Congatulation's Nicci

Introducing the 2009 graduating class of Clayton High School!!! Nicci is the second on the left bottom row.

No dry eyes hear. Justina and Nicci exchanging hugs and flowers.

Here are Justina and the "graduating girls". Nicci from high school and Amaya from kindergarten. Amaya graduates from kindergarten on June 4th.

Justina did a wonderful job on the small family get together after the ceremony. Dave's gracious parents let Justina have the party at their lake home. It turned out great.

After the ceremony we went to the trailer for the night. Amanda came with us. Today we came home early and Ted did some yard work and then we brought Amanda back to Glenwood City. She just moved there to live at her Aunt Ruth's house.

100th post!!

Can you believe it this is my 100th post.

I made these guys last week. I worked on more red, white, and blue ribbons today. Got them cut out anyway. I also made some "Up Northy" signs with old boat oars. I have to get a picture of them yet.
Campground project!
Sunday we raked everything up in the back. We put the fire pit back there. Also the swing and picnic table. Next we are going to turn the shed and add the extra decking on. Sure opened up the lot.

You can see there were alot of leaves. That pile came from where the dirt spot is. We filled the trailer full!!

Our new campfire area. I love it. It will be nice the kids can have the whole front yard to play now.

Gotta go for now.

"Just Horsin' Around"

"HORSIN' AROUND AT THE BACKWOODS!"

You would have had to seen it to believe it! On Saturday at our campground was the spring horse ride. The local horse club stays at the campground horses and all. They go on trail rides and have a great time. There are some beautiful horses. In the evening there is music at the bar. We are all having a fun time listening to the music and in rides this guy on his horse. What a site. He came in and turned around a few times then rode off out the door. The band even stopped playing when he came in. What a great time we had.
Last week was kind of busy. We had a good friend of ours from our old campground pass away very unexpectedly last Sunday. We attended his memorial service on Thursday. Later this summer they will have a burial service at the Spooner Veteran's Memorial. I had never been to a Military Honor service befor . That was very moving and emotional for us. It made me very proud to have a friend that served in the Air Force for our country. Rest in peace Duane!
On Saturday we went to visit Ted's mom. They were having a cookout for lunch. I did get a couple of things made last week. I will post them later. Friday I got more barn boards bleached and sun dried.
Hopefully I can get some more stuff made for Chopper Fest. That is sneaking up on me fast. Eveyone is buying my stuff as fast as I get it made. I have to get more hand bags made for that also. The gals up at the campground are requesting that I have lots of them!!!
Have a great week. Next Saturday is Nicci's graduation from high school.
Oh yeah HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to you all.

Barn wood signs

Well I got up early this morning and started scrubbing the barn boards with bleach water. It gets all the "gunk" off. Our neighbors at the campground asked me last winter to make them a sign that says "It's 5 o'clock somewhere!" Well I had to get that started.

I had one that I wanted to make a flag out of so I painted that up also. I added barbed wire for a hanger.
Last weekend one of the campers asked if I could make him a door stop for his trailer. He liked mine with the bears and asked if I could do one with a deer. So I made that this morning also.

Here are some other things I have made!

Welcome sign. I added the stick today.

Yard birds

Howling wolves

Here is a sample of bags that I have made.

Wheelchair totes

More bags

Well that's all for now. Going up to the trailer tomorrow. Oh yeah, Carla the girls said "welcome to the club!" They are excited that you joined. Justina says "lefse" that's what you need to do!!! Have a great weekend.

Free Wood!!!!

I know it has been awhile. More on those things later. Last night I traveled to some friends house and got a ton of good plywood for some projects I'm working on. This morning I was painting some yard birds I had cut out of wood, and of course Justina called wanting to know what I was doing. She came across some "free" barn boards. Of course I had to drop everything. Well we had to tear them off. That was part of the fun of it. It was raining when I left and quit when I got there. We have driven by this old barn drooling over the pile of boards several times. It is not to far from Justina's house.

Poor lonely thing just waiting for a good home!

Here is Justina working hard to get a board she wanted. All the time wishing she had a cordless skill saw.

Here I am. "Give it a good kick and it will fall off!" I would make my parents proud!!
My load!

Justina's stash!

Now I have to get busy and make stuff out of it. I have been sewing also. Will update later. Gotta go.

Weekend with Family and Freinds

Friday was our day to meet up with Ann. I rode to Rochester with Andy , Greg and the boys. We met Justina and family at her dad's house. Off to Joann Fabrics to meet Ann. We had planned on shopping but were short on time. We went to Wendy's for treats instead. We had a lot of talking to do since we never had met before.
Here we are at Wendy's. Andy, Justina, me, Mardell (Dave's mom) and Ann. Look at the goodies to exchange!!
After that we went to a play at Justina and Andy's dad's church. It was called "The Passion of Christ". What a wonderful experience that was. Made you feel like you were actually there living in those days.
Saturday my family came to our house for dinner. The kids had so much fun playing with each other. We hid eggs in the back yard for an egg hunt.

Decorating bags for the "hunt"

The hunt is on. Counting to see how many we have.

After the hunt.

Cole, Evan, Alex, Jabin, Elsie, and Alma. Not sure where Amaya was.

Checking out the goods. Amaya has her "Super Girl " suit on from Andy.

After the egg hunt some of the kids watched a movie and some played out side. It was fun to get the kids together again. Also to see my family. Of course we all ate too much! It has been ahwile , the last time was at Tomah swimming.

I have some projects started for this week. Enjoy the warm weather.

Handbags & Honor Ribbons

Here are the projects I worked on so far this week.

The handbag on the left is the fabric I found on Saturday. The one on the right has crocheted lace from my stash of things from my mother.

These little over the shoulder bags were made from some small scraps I had. The are 10x8 with the strap about 45" and have two pockets inside and one on the outside. Velcro tab to close.

Here is the "primitive" one I whipped up. It measures approx. 15x 13 with a pocket on the inside also.

I am also working on red, white and blue honor ribbons for Chopperfest. I made some yellow ones also. They are made of one inch pine and measure 16" tall.

I will put some on stakes and hangers on some. They can be put in your yard or hung up either inside or out. I am putting them up at our campsite.

It has warmed up a little so I was working in the garage yesterday. I still could see my breath!

Friday I am traveling to Rochester with the girls. We are meeting our friend Ann. We know her from our blogs and now we get to meet her in person! After that we are going to a play that the girl's dad is is at his church. On Saturday my family is coming for Easter dinner. I better get a lot done the next couple of days.
